What We Are Learning
Math:
This week we will focus on a very important concept called "Making a Ten to Add". We will be discussing how 10 is a friendly number, and we can put other numbers together to make it easier to anchor to a 10. This builds on our math concepts last week of understanding teen numbers.
Students will be expected to manipulate numbers to create a ten, to make it easier to add. Here is an example:
8 + 5
8 + 2 + 3
8 + 2 = 10, 10 + 3= 13
