Baggie Books
Thank you for your support with Baggie Books! If you find a level is way to challenging or way to easy for your child, please jot me a note on the front of the yellow slip. Please be sure to return the yellow slip with the books.
Math
We are working very hard on the skill of understanding numbers up to 10! We are learning what these quantities look like in different forms (dominoes, dice, 10 frames, and addition problems). We are going to continue to work on this skill in multiple ways, including story problems, throughout the month of October.
Field Trip
We will go to Safetyville in Jackson on Friday, October 25th. We will leave in the morning. If you would like to attend, please let me know. Volunteers must have their volunteer forms completed in the office two weeks before the field trip. You must be on the volunteer list to help in the classroom, or attend a school trip.
Snacks
Students are quite hungry in the morning when we take a morning break. Please be sure to send a snack with your child. Students are supposed to bring snacks to school each day. Parents have brought in extra snacks, but this should be used once in a while, not daily.
Currently, students are trying to trade snacks from the snack bin if they don’t favor the snack they brought from home. Many students want to get a second snack from the bin as well. I am going to explain to them that they should eat the snacks that are sent to school with them. Please discuss this with them as well.
If your child feels they are very hungry in the morning, consider sending a half of a PB & J sandwich, or other quick to eat high protein snack. Also, students can keep a bigger Ziploc bag of snacks in their locker for the week if they would like.
Other Items
If you haven't had a chance, please send in a pair of headphones. Students will use them with classroom Ipads, Surface Tablets, and in the computer lab.
Thank you for all of your support this year! I appreciate all that you have done for our classroom!
Classroom W.O.W.'s (Wonderful. Outstanding. Work.)
* Students have been actively reading and working on words INDEPENDENTLY for 15 minutes. This is on-task, self directed time, and I am VERY proud of them!
