Way to go Mrs. Hawkins' First Grade Class! I am so proud of you!!!!!!!
Animal Research Reports
We are writing one section each day. Students will write between 3 and 6 complete sentences, in their best writing, each day. This is not unreasonable for this point in first grade.
They will not complete the report in one writing segment, or complete the project without support. However, in order to finish, they will have to be on task and use strategies they have learned this year. I am very excited for you to see what they have can accomplish in writing.
Thank you for your support with at home research! We will have a few report reading days once all reports are finished. I will establish a day and time and send it home, that way if you would like to come to listen, you may.

We are moving into addition and subtraction of numbers up to 20. Students do not have to memorize these facts this year, but they do need a strategy for figuring them out rather quickly. We will work with "fact families" and solving many story problems with these facts.
