Grinch Day!
Thursday, December 18th!
Grinch Day is our first grade holiday celebration. Students can dress up like someone from Whoville. Last year students came in all different sorts of attire. We had the Mayor of Whoville, many Cindy Lou Who's, lots of people from town, and even Max the dog! Some just wore Grinch Green! We had hair piled high with trinkets inside. There were colorful clothes, holiday dresses, and even a few suits and bow ties. The great thing about Whoville, anything goes. Especially very colorful holiday clothes. (Note: Students wear their Whoville clothes to school, and out to recess. Please be sure that whatever they have on is recess friendly.)
You can find lots of ideas on Pinterest ,or on by watching the movie, or reading the book.
We will enjoy rotations between classrooms in the morning. Our classroom party, with food and fun, will be in the afternoon from 12:00 to 1:20. Students will go to special at 1:20, and the celebration will end then. If you would like to volunteer, it would be great to have help from 12:00 to 1:20 in the afternoon when we have our party.
Grinch day is a very fun and exciting day in first grade! I can't wait to see all of the students ready to celebrate.
Mrs. Brosamer will be contacting families about what kind of Grinchy treats to bring to the celebration.
